Welcome to my portfolio! My name is Edward Fields, and I'm an Engineering Physics graduate from the University of Central Arkansas (ABET-accredited, May 2026), a first-generation college student, and a member of IEEE Region 5. My focus is robotics and embedded systems. I enjoy creating things, so I'm at home designing, building, and debugging real hardware, from the circuit board up to the navigation software, rather than just modeling it on paper.

My senior capstone, WonkyBot, was a fully autonomous robot that finds colored balls and sorts them into matching bins using ROS 2, computer vision, and a Raspberry Pi 5 paired with a Pico. It placed 3rd statewide and won Best Notebook at the Arkansas Space Grant Consortium, and I presented it at the IEEE Student Showcase. On my own time, I've built a series of personal robots (Glitch MK1 and MK2) and an embedded cipher lock that I took all the way to a custom PCB.

I put myself through school as a full-time student while also working a full-time job, so I know a thing or two about tenacity. That shaped how I approach engineering: practical, resourceful, and comfortable owning a problem end to end. Right now I'm doing R&D engineering work focused on experimental design and dimensional-stability analysis of manufactured parts.

I'm looking for entry-level work in robotics, embedded systems, or controls. Honestly, anywhere innovation shines! Most of what I know I learned by taking something apart and putting it back together, and I built this site the same way: I designed and coded it myself in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Outside of engineering, I have plenty of hobbies. I'm a car enthusiast and amateur mechanic; I skate, and I play a few instruments, to name a few. I hope you enjoy the site. I really worked hard to put it together.
